Joy in the Journey

There is a joy in the journey....
I am saved by grace, forgiven from all my filthiness.  And that is amazing!
But there are still bumps in the road.  And right now I'm going through one.  Yet God is still giving me peace and joy, despite my wanderings and lack of trust.  He brings me back to trust Him.  He is so praise-worthy!  I don't praise Him enough, or love Him enough.  I never could.  But, oh, that I would never stop seeking to love Him and praise Him more!

Thanksgiving Visit

I had a really good time with the Chapins in November!  The weather and scenery were lovely, and the people were lovely as well. It was great to meet my friend Johanna face to face. :)

Here are some of the things that went on:

* Psalm singing and Bible studies every morning
* Burying each other in leaves
* Looking at a myriad stars from a mountain-side
* Playing the board game Acquire
* The beginning of Joel & Charity's "pre-courtship"
* Thanksgiving dinner around three tables
* Lots of reflection and searching
* A Saturday Sabbath
* Long conversations
* Squished car rides

Our family doesn't celebrate Christmas, but we are planning a dinner with family tomorrow.  Hope everyone is doing well--happy holidays!

Memorial Service & Thanksgiving

Last Sat. we had a memorial service for my dad.  It was definitely hard in some ways, but also a blessing.

I'll be going to friends' house for Thanksgiving, several states away!  Fun stuff. :)

Started writing my story for the novel month--let's see if this little meter thing works.  (I'm supposed to write 50,000 words this month...Not going to happen, I'm afraid, but that's okay.)

Today Mom, Annie, & I went to Mark & Korina's place.  We drove around, ate at MacDonald's (though Korina didn't get anything because she had already eaten).  Went back to her place and sat and talked/relaxed.  It was nice. :)

We borrowed Pride & Prejudice (new version) from Korina, and tonight Mom, Annie, and I watched it.  I liked it (for the most part)--I think better than the A&E version, at least in some ways.  It still had a lot of low-necked gowns, though, so I was glad my brothers didn't watch it with us.

Yesterday Mom & I went to help Korina (my new sister-in-law). We thought we might do some painting of the walls, but we didn't end up doing that. Korina hurt her back a few days ago--she was doing a little better yesterday, so hopefully today she's all better. She and Mark had NY apples which they didn't want to go bad, so Mom & I made two apple pies with them. Korina said we could take one home. We took off a little of the tape that was on the walls from painting, ate lunch, and looked at some photo albums.

Today Mom and I have been busy making tons of potato salad for the get-together at church tomorrow in celebration of Mark & Korina's marriage. I guess I'm supposed to make some pie crust for the sweet potato pie Mom's giving to some of the church people. And I have a few other little things to do.

So, I guess I should get off here, now.

P.S. My sister Annie's coming home tonight! :)
